SOME “INSPIRATIONAL” FEEDBACK ON

MARIA VALTORTA’S WRITINGS - FOR THESE TIMES

MARIA’S “ESSENTIAL” WRITINGS

THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD

I am a seminarian in Canada. The writings of Valtorta have really brought me closer to Christ and have helped me along the way in my priestly vocation.  AARON ROE, Calgary AB, Canada.

Maria Valtorta's writings have affected me more than anything I have ever read.  I just know the Lord better, as well as all of His friends - the saints in heaven.  GERARD BEER, Pittsburgh PA, USA.

[While reading The Poem], I have this experience of bursting into tears. Sometimes tears of joy, sometimes of sorrow. It takes me to many places in reflection, prayer, wondering....  JANICE CUMMINGS, Buckner MO, U.S.A.

I am thoroughly smitten!! Why haven’t I read these books earlier in my life? They bring new life into the Gospel stories, and even expand on them. I thank God for allowing me, in my latter years, to read them.  FATHER PETER MALONE, Urbenville, NSW.

A PILGRIM’S GUIDE TO THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD

It’s lovely to get back to The Poem again after nearly ten years, and especially with the “Pilgrim’s Guide” for specific references.  Thank God!  MARIAN HARRADINE, Montrose, Tas.

Readers and lovers of The Poem will be ever grateful for its production. Almost 200 pages enable instant access to so many subjects and topics.  FR. FRANK MAHER S.J. (Editor: Messenger of the Two Hearts), Hampton Vic.

The third edition of the Pilgrim’s Guide is so extensive and informative… I doubt it can get any better than this!  CARMEL TANNA, Homebush, N.S.W.

What I like most is that you can go to specific topics for study and inspiration. It turns The Poem into a very useful spiritual tool, definitely enhances the Bible, and is a most welcomed resource.  RICK BEAUPRE, Rhode Is., USA.

MARIA VALTORTA - AUTOBIOGRAPHY

[Maria’s Autobiography] is probably the most beautiful thing I have ever read. I have shed many tears and felt my heart and soul touched by so many things in her story. Somehow I feel so connected to Maria spiritually now, and some of the issues in my own life have taken on a new meaning. It’s beautiful.  MARIE CHEERS, Somerton Park, S.A.

MARIA’S 1943, 1944 AND 1945-50 NOTEBOOKS (These passages are quite separate from those in Maria’s other books)

After reading the Notebooks (1943 and 1944), I’m so in awe of Maria’s ability to give herself so totally to the Lord - surely the angels had to have helped her to write this massive amount of pages! EVA RICHTER, Northam, W.A.

The 1945-50 Notebooks are so packed with God-given information that, like with the others, I cannot retain all I would wish to. I feel that Valtorta’s works are a refuge, and an ark, in a sin-tossed world.  ROSE MARY RHODES, Old Toongabbie, N.S.W.

I am still getting enormous Spiritual help from the Notebooks.  EILEEN AIKEN, Ardee, C. Louth, Ireland.

I can’t believe I’ve had these treasures on my bookshelf only partially read for all these years.  HUGH KELLY, Cary NC, USA.

THE BOOK OF AZARIAH  (Maria’s Guardian Angel)

What a blessing.  I get so engrossed in it, and then occasionally I'll pause, in wonder, that I'm actually reading "angel-speak."  I love that it is presented liturgically, because I write/present the (lay) homilies at our Wednesday morning church services, and to have these thoughts from/of Jesus, through Azariah, through Maria, are priceless.  DEB JOHNSON, Mississippi, USA.

(My favourite passage in all Maria’s writings is on pages 270-1 of this book. I call it “Soul to Soul” – Ed.)

A READER’S GUIDE TO MARIA VALTORTA’S OTHER WRITINGS (To the above five books)

I was near the end of Volume 5 of The Poem, and wondered what on earth I was going to do when it finished - as I was not aware of all the other material. And then… Voila!  MARIE WALSH, Kew, Vic.

Sincere thanks for the wonderful Index. It is so comprehensive and very necessary for me when I have to teach a special Sunday School subject.  PATRICK OWENS, Calgary AB, Canada.

Thank you for the latest "Reader's Guide…" Another great labour of love that will be a boon to any preacher seeking homiletic material! God bless this apostolate!  BRO. CHRYS CASTEL, Trappist KY, USA

The “Reader’s Guide…” is a great asset to me…  LORRAINE Haydon, Woodlands, W.A.

AUDIOS AND BOOKLETS

THE “SUNDAY GOSPELS” (with the Writings of Maria Valtorta)  [A 55-hour 4xCD (MP3) set, with a Listening Guide]

I treasure what you have undertaken. This enables me to pursue passages which I can really follow, even though I had read extensively from Maria’s writings.  BISHOP ROMAN DANYLAK, Toronto ON, Canada.  (Bishop Danylak has recently lost his reading vision.)

Next to the Bible, His Grace refers frequently to Maria Valtorta.  A cost cannot be put on these CDs as far as he is concerned.  We even had Jesus speaking through you from Maria Valtorta at the Prayer Meeting re the Holy Eucharist.  MARY ELLEN McBRIDE, Markdale ON, Canada (a member of Bishop Danylak’s prayer group)

As I listened to several Sunday readings, I noticed that you chose not to have any background sounds or music of any kind in any of the readings. I liked this, because [this may have] interfered with or overpowered what was supposed to be the true focus.  CATHERINE LOFT, Glen Iris, Vic.

An amazing Work of Love that will be a great boon for understanding the liturgical Gospels and for homilists open to Valtorta!  BR. CHRYS CASTEL, Trappist KY, USA

I am overwhelmed at the content and quality of the CDs. It is a resource to be treasured.  STEPHANIE MUNRO, Silver Lakes, South Africa

The Poem in English sounds gorgeous. I enjoyed every word. So clear, well said, good rhythm, and of course the divine and incredible words of our Lord, the Virgin Mary, Azariah, John, and Valtorta. It is perfect for a good preparation to celebrate Sunday Mass, and for homilies. There is an enormous amount of inspiration here. This work has to be known. It has to go into the hands of many people. Those who don't read much will hear these CDs and will surely decide to buy The Poem. I hope that in the future we can have these CDs read in many languages, starting with Spanish, of course.  FR. JORGE FUENTES, Puebla, Mexico.

I have read Maria Valtorta's complete work numerous times, and [these recordings] just bring tears to my eyes.  JOHN ATA, Herndon VA, USA.

THE GOSPEL MEDITATED ROSARY (with the Writings of Maria Valtorta) (Cassette tapes, CDs, and transcript booklet)

(Prior to the advent of the “Luminous” Mysteries)

Thank you. Over the past week I have been able to pray through all three rosaries, driving long distances here in Massachusetts…  FATHER AL WINSHMAN, Boston MA, USA

The meditations on the Holy Rosary are just so beautiful. I have noticed that the more lines I pray, my soul steps into the picture, and I feel I am in that journey with Jesus and Mary. My spirit is travelling with them in every word, in every thought, in every deed, in every joy, and in every sorrow. And I feel I am giving Our Mother a little comfort by making this journey with her.  INES CAMPOS, Casula, N.S.W.

I took the rosary tapes with me to Europe and had plenty of time to listen to them on the plane. They are excellent, especially for those who read the book.  FR. PETER KRIGOVSKY, N.S.W.

(Then the “Luminous” Mysteries arrived…)

The Luminous Mysteries CD and tape are pure joy - what heavenly words they are.  GWEN STORY, Waipawa, New Zealand.

Today I prayed the Luminous Mysteries. How powerful - I learned and literally experienced so much, Only now do I begin to realize what a wonderful addition to the Rosary we've been given. I can't imagine how much these five mysteries will impact the lives of so many, as they’re tied to works of Maria Valtorta. This would be a whole new way of spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Many people read - why not listen, then stop and think. Thanks Lord!  ED FORD, Scottsdale AZ, USA.

“PRAYING THE ROSARY”  (with the Writings of Maria Valtorta)  (A pocket-book abridgement of the above)

Thanks for the beautiful  'Praying the Rosary' booklet. It is indeed a pocket book, but it contains treasure. It is a summary of the summary of the Valtorta work! This book is so attractive and it is a good tool to promote Valtorta books, because it is easy to read before one is introduced to The Poem etc.  SR. CHRISTINE KABUMBU, Zambia

How beautiful the "Praying the Rosary" pocket-sized book is!  It is so well done. I love the size, the quality of the cover, the paper - as it will resist wear and tear of continual daily handling. And the ribbon marker is the icing on the cake.  Praying the Rosary will never be the same again, and will be a magnificent journey - with each Hail Mary and with each decade and with each mystery!  PAULINE NICHOLS, Vermont USA

I’m delighted with the insights given to me, as I pray the Rosary with this guide. Gone are the days of reading old magazines in waiting rooms, when I have a treasure like this in my handbag.  SHARON McCOURT, Qld

Thanks for the beautiful little blue “Praying the Rosary” pocket-booklet. It goes with me everywhere, and I’ve had some deeply spiritual experiences while praying the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament – with these meditations.  JAN PILE, Leanyer, NT.

CHAPLET OF THE HOLY FAMILY (Cassette tapes, CDs, and transcript booklet – in Rosary format)

We were most excited with the CD of the Chaplet of the Holy Family and wish to share it.  I also cannot understand why it does not sell so abundantly, but maybe the time for it is close at hand.  MARY ELLEN McBRIDE, Toronto ON, Canada.
